HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}

re Bentley and 20/25 Starter Pinion.

This memo confirms our request for you to make tests to find the slipping torque of the bijur pinion at present used on the 20/25 and Bentley so that we shall know what its limitations are in handling the extra starting torque we have in view.

We should like also temperature effects to be included as the coefficient friction may be affected thereby.

If the clutch with the extra corks to RR. Sch.417, is available this might also usefully be tested.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
