This is suffering from three things which must be improved.

(1) Hot engine oil - a cooler seems the next thing, but are we sure that our other engines may be nearly as bad? To make the bearings last can we try Kelmit for the big ends?

I understand it has a hardened shaft and balance weights, so ought to be good in the main bearings if oil is not the cause of poor condition of bearings.

(2) I do not like our tail end extension (to shorten the propeller shaft), and am asking DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} to try another scheme to slightly shorten the propeller shaft, but also take the sliding joint into a rear extension of the box.

(3) It is understood that the new clutch materials have acted like a charm on the clutch, causing it to hold better, and take up more smoothly, but we would still like the modified and simpler clutch with cast iron faces, and also the better operating gear.

(4) We understand that the modifications to the steering box, etc, are being adopted to permit of lower carburetter position.
