In reply to your memo. BY/CGH{W Clough}1/G17631., we have drilled a hole through the centre of the 1st. motion shaft opposite the spigot bearing with the idea of getting some oil through at that point. The dia. of this hole can be varied experimentally and it can be made to taper if necessary.
