To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} 1300 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}13/KW.30.4.35. SpectreCodename for Phantom III 1.. While this car is in the shop, will you please attend to the following points :- (1) Increase the load on the crankshaft damper to 25-27 lbs. (2) Examine the gearbox for what seized on the road during our run to London to-day and also remove completely the synchromesh outer members and their bronze cones. This applies to both the third speed and second speed, as we wish to see whether these are responsible for the "chunking" in the drive. (3) Cure any oil leaks possible in the engine and governor control system, as oil at present pours on to the silencer. (4) Make the windscreen wipers work.
