| ENGINES F/HCM. 29th April 1935. RE BENTLEY CAR. LIST 1. MATTERS REQUIRING ATTENTION ON THE CHASSIS. 1. Fit new cross member and bumper. 2. Deal with original complaint on head lamps, so as to make night driving safe. Complaint consists of bad vibration of the lamps, and continual fluttering of the dimming device. This complaint was supposed to be dealt with when the car went to Derby. The car has also been returned twice to the Lucas Depot for attention and modification and adjustment to the dimming springs. No selection of springs is able to deal with the severe vibration of the lamps. 3. Fit new pistons for improved performance. 4. Cure transmission click, which has existed from the day the car was taken over, and the attention of the driver who delivered the car was drawn to this defect. Complaint was made of this defect when the car was sent to Derby in December, but it was not dealt with. 5. Cure brake squealing. 6. Change speed lever rattles. A noticeable and unpleasant vibratory noise develops on the change speed lever above 70 miles an hour. This only occurred when the car was returned from Derby last December. 7. Radiator shutters rattle. | ||
