| ENGINES F/HCM. 29th April 1935. RE BENTLEY CAR. LIST 2. BODY DEFECTS. 1. Replace front windscreen. This cracked the first day the car was delivered, and within 10 miles of leaving London. 2. Windscreen wiper requires entirely refitting, and has been a constant source of trouble. The main drive has sheared twice and shears because the layout of the drive is incorrect. The travel of the wipers on the glass screen is incorrect, and the whole windscreen wiper arrangements require reviewing and refitting. 3. Cure leak on the near side (Passenger's window.) 4. Internal woodwork, including window panels and dashboard, in a disgraceful condition. Although the car has meticulous attention, the cellulose on this woodwork started cracking and flaking off after a few weeks, and has got steadily worse. It is considered that on this class of body, the woodwork ought to be French polished, and not cellulosed. 5. Cracked front door pillars require replacing. 6. Cure bad rattle on near side of body. 7. Wireless Set. This has been unsatisfactory, and is quite useless. No attempt has been made to use this wireless for the past five months. Some considerable expense has been involved with the Bristol Philco Service Department, who state that the set has been incorrectly fitted, also that the aerial is frayed, causing a partial short. It is suggested that the London Philco Service Department should be called in, and have whatever is necessary done to this set, to make it efficient. 8. Door handles loose and require adjustment. 9. Fit new glass to rear red stop lamp. | ||
