S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Copy to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} X5081 CWB21/GM/20-6-27. ALUMINIUM CARBURETORS. We are already having trouble with the aluminium lead of the float chamber seizing in the screw threads. You will remember the enormous amount of trouble which was experienced when this type of fitting, i.e. aluminium screwed into aluminium in the presence of petrol, was used on aero engines during the War and it looks as if we were going to run into the same difficulties. Would you please look into this matter and let me have your views. CWB. Locking device is fitted with ilum: carburettors threads can therefore be made slack. | ||
