X3910 To Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/KT.9.2.33. ASBESTOS SPRAYING OF BODY PANELS. We were visited by the gentleman, who does this job last week. We were definitely impressed by the possibility of asbestos spraying for the damping of body booms. He had a Morris car, one door of which had been sprayed, the other being standard. The standard door produced the usual biscuit tin effect, but the other one was quite dead. We asked this gentleman to get in direct communication with you, as we are most anxious to have one of our expl. bodies sprayed in the immediate future. Will it be possible to have our final Peregrine saloon sprayed in this manner? It appears that if the scuttle and rear of the body below the back window were dealt with, they would be the most sensible [crossed out] sensitive [handwritten] parts of the body.
