There is an item that I have not reported in the general report. This I did not consider policy to do so but at the same time I wish to attract your attention to it.
Upon dismantling the main oil filter we found great difficulty in taking it down the cause being a gudgeon locking pin which had become jammed between the filter case and engine case.
The thread of the pin has been stripped, and as I had not one in stock I decided that it would no do any good to dismantle the bottom half at this stage as this will be dismantled at the end of the 10000 miles.
The pin is complete with split pin turned over. It looks as if there was not sufficient thread on the pin when tappered end is in position, apparently there is only three threads to hold it these can very easily be stripped when tightening them up.

We have received today a Memo stating that a new battery stay had been sent out. We have not received any communication from you regarding this, also we shall have finished our 10000 miles before the bracket can arrive here.
We shall be pleased to receive instructions regarding this.

G.W. Hancock.
