performance when new, it rapidly deteriorates under service conditions and would require replacing after about 10000 miles. The present std. "Maconite" cable not only gives a good performance new but maintains its initial quality over a long period of running and these tests show that "Maconite" to be definitely superior in the majority of the items in the test specification. The "Helsby" cable is not as good dielectrically as the other three makes of cable or as regards heat and atmospheric resistivity in the case of "Maconite" and "Super Glover".
