We have decided to drop the Stellite tipped Bentley sparking plug electrode in favour of the standard nickel manganese for the reasons that :- (a) The stellite tip causes the plug to run slightly hotter. (b) Stelliting increases the manufacturing cost of the plug appreciably. (c) The slight advantage gained when using leaded fuels does not warrant its introduction when (a) and (b) are taken into account. Also the Bentley Chassis in customers hands will not necessarily be running all the time using leaded fuels. We have already informed Major Carington of the K.L.G.Co., of this decision.
