Description of Parts: MODIFICATION TO CYLINDER BLOCK.
Origin: To prevent scratching on working face of piston.
Report of Experimental Test.
Cylinder bores have smooth finished radius at mouth to drawing Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}111 instead of existing chamfer. This modification reduces amount of scratching on working face caused by piston changing from one side of the bore to other at bottom dead centre position.
Cylinders with this modification have recently completed 15,000 miles standardisation test satisfactory in 6-B-IW chassis.
