I agree that the sample marked FO, i.e. the one which has been filed up by hand and then blacked by Lucas process should be adopted. The faces of the four small bosses should be protected by a washer during the filing process and to prevent the bosses being reduced too much in diameter. It looks as if this piece could be improved with a view to rendering the finishing process cheaper. I am writing to Mr. Day on this point. Bn.{W.O.
