Re: HIGH PRESSURE PETROL PUMPS
(Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/R.31.7.37).

With reference to the above memo, the contents of which we have very carefully noted, and to the copy of "Owners Complaint Report" N°. N.7 of the 21.7.37 attached to this memo, we wish firstly to make quite clear the complaints made by Mr. Banmeyer owner of chassis 3/BT{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer}/I2I prior to the alteration of the petrol filter and the petrol feed pipes.

We effected the following work:

Date : Mileage : Complaint : Work effected : Time car was at our disposal.
23.6.37 : 490 miles : Pump noisy : As pump was not very : 4 hours
: : : noisy, we passed it :
: : : as O.K. :
5.7.37 : 2212 " : " " and insuffi- : Fitted latest type : Work carried out at
: : cient debit : G.S.pump. : owner's garage.

On the 19.7.37, we had to put right some defects in the electrical accessories, etc...

We are not in a position to tell you whether the modification carried to Mr. Banmeyer's car is a complete cure. Apparently the owner is quite satisfied with the results and it is results that count. We do not want you to think that we are not paying attention to the vapour lock trouble.

You will have observed from our memo Sr/VAIO/GM.27.7.37 (chassis 3.AZ.52 - Mr. Lionel de Rothschild) that one of our men carried out a similar modification when he attended to the car recently at Brides-les-Bains. We sent you a full report.
? AX or AZ with odd number

Mr. Sparrow, owner of chassis 3.AZ.I85 informed us last week that he is experiencing similar trouble and it was arranged with him a few days ago that we should alter the position of the petrol filted etc.. He is sending us his car this week for attention.

We have also put in hand a set of parts (pipes, support and baffle) for our Trials Car 3/AZ/20 and they will be fitted as soon as this car is available.

You will observe from the above that we have not let the matter drop. We shall be pleased to let you know the results obtained as soon as possible, but what we wish to avoid is giving
