1021 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG.2/RH.{R. Hollingworth} 30th May, 1941. Your ref: FIC/MW. F.{Mr Friese} Connolly Esq., Messrs. Connolly Brothers (Curriers) Ltd., Wandle Bank, Wimbledon, LONDON. S.W.19. Dear Mr. Connolly, Thank you for your letter of May 28th. with reference to "Vaumol" hides with Luxan grain. I agree with you that nothing looks nicer than the natural grain of the leather, but in view of the fact that there is a certain amount of uncertainty as to how pronounced the grain of the hides will be until the final process, it might be advisable to lightly print them. I appreciate that this tends to harden them, but as they have to be used with the leather cloth, it is important that they should be a good match. At a later date when we get on to production, it might be very helpful to able to do a small amount of printing and while I wish to put up a sample job as an example of the best we shall produce, I do not wish to give the people concerned any false impressions. Yours sincerely, | ||
