Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., 7th March, 1941.

7. That the main metering jet shall be .050" in diameter and of the ring type as P-22660.

8. The needle seat shall be .140" diameter.

9. That the idle tubes shall have No. 70 petrol jet and No. 54 air hole in top.

10. That provision for suction operated advance of the ignition shall be made on the throttle body casting.

11. That plain throttle plates shall be fitted, i.e. there shall be no air holes drilled.

12. That No. 60 secondary air bleeds shall be provided in the throttle body.

13. That the choke and throttle levers shall be substantially as your Drawing PL.196 (see remarks below.)

14. That the control levers on the throttle and choke spindles shall be secured by means of nuts.

X 15. That the main discharge jet shall be housed without a lead sealing washer under the top land.

16. That the combined float chamber cover and air intake shall be as for AAV-25 carburetter, the lid{A. J. Lidsey} being recessed over the idle air bleeds. The gasket will be slotted in way of the said bleeds.

17. That the throttle levers shall be of the plate type and not of the clamp-on type, as shown on your Drawing PL.196.

We would raise a query as regards the choke lever. On your Drawing PL.196 this is shown as incorporating a boss. Would it be allowable to make this lever also of the plate type, and increase the length of the distancepiece behind the lever?
