Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/LTR 1-6-40 To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. 1022 Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}6/JH. 2.4.40. Flywheel and Clutch Rippletto. On PL.66 herewith, we show the designs for the flywheel clutch and bell housing for Rippletto. The flywheel is the B.60 heavy type made suitable for Lucas starter motor and the 9" centrifugal clutch. The clutch casing and the clutch operation are both identical with the latest designs for B.60. The gearbox is the Hillman 2 litre and is in existance, its attachment to the clutch casing is by means of a diaphram of which we show the design. Unfortunately the 1st. motion shaft of the gearbox is not long enough, we have therefore designed an extension. It is intended that the extension should be a press fit to the existing Hillman 1st. motion shaft which has been turned down and serrated.
