EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} from Wd. {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} X 8790. Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 2/NJJ.7.5.25. Watford EO.6 Magneto - X.4181. The EO.6 type magneto No.71063 referred to in yours EPC3/T17.4.25 was returned to North & Sons Ltd. on 17th ult. and we are this morning in receipt of North's report on same, as follows:- "We regret the delay in sending you a report on "the above-mentioned magneto, as requested in your "letter of 17th ult. "We have examined the magneto and find that in "addition to the modifications necessary to bring the "magneto up to date the extension of the movement of "the advance lever will necessitate the fitting of a "new base plate and pole shoes, the existing iron pole "shoes not being suitable for the 60° range of advance. "The pole shoes used for magnetos with 60° range of "advance consist of comparatively small pole shoes in "the form of inserts in bronze plates. This is "necessary to avoid the overlapping of the pole shoes "by the steel sleeve. "We beg to quote for the bringing the magneto "up to date, changing the direction of rotation and "increasing the range of advance to 60° £3.5.0d. less "20% and trust that we may be favoured with your order "to proceed with the work." Will you please say whether you are agreeable to an order being sent to makers to cover the charge named. Wd. {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} J.W.f. | ||
