CJ1/E3/5/25 - 3 - B. POLICY THAT WE HAVE TO DECIDE AS REGARDS DATE OF ANNOUNCEMENT. (a). At what date shall we announce that we will take orders for chassis with FWB. This question is not affected by the decision (hereafter discussed) as to whether chassis shall, in the first instance, be issued without FWB, with the promise and intention to fit them later. This question simply affects the effect which such an announcement might have:- Firstly on sa-les of current cars if it be made before orders for all current cars have been taken; Secondly, on deliveries and payment for cars which are not delivered by ourselves and our Retailers at the time the announcement is made. It seems that the decision as regards the first point would be not to make the announcement until orders have been taken for all chassis and cars of the current type. The decision on the second point would seem to be that the announcement should be made as soon as orders have been received for all chassis and cars of the current type and that we and our agents should insist on delivery and payment. In this connection it may be expedient confidentially to advise our biggest retailers that they should see that they have legal contracts on which they can successfully fxx fight. | ||
