We have now 18-EX, 19-EX 21-EX and 23-EX built up with all the parts as instructed for production.

23-EX we have sent over to the Production Test as a raw chassis in order that they can anticipate what their troubles are likely to be and also arrange for their tackle to be modified to suit the SS.{S. Smith}

22-EX car which ran 10,000 miles in France has been tested by EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} and myself since its return and the general opinion is that it is in a very satisfactory condition. The self starter which failed completely in France has been examined, and the reason for the failures have been ascertained and there is no likelihood of a similar failure occurring again.

We have spent a day on the road with 18-EX and 19-EX with Sales and Derby officials.

We are proposing to send to London on Monday next 21-EX. This car will be a model of the production and it is intended that it should be used as an Amateurs Drivers' test car. The car will be handed over to Sales to be run and tested in any manner they choose.

As regards PN{Mr Northey}'s complaint of over-heating on the SS.{S. Smith} We have carried out a test and are satisfied that the SS.{S. Smith} is equal, if not better, than the Phantom in this respect.
