These were all open during the test as were also side and top scuttle ventilators. Without these the front seats would be unbearably hot in summer weather. Average top water temperature during tests of Cadillac, all bonnet shutters open 77 - 80°C. Average temperature during tests 94-G.N. No bonnet ventilation 80°C. (6/7 min. tubes) Brakes. Vacuum servo. Very smooth, no squeaking, insufficiently powerful. Pedal can be pushed to the boards without locking any wheels. General performance inferior to R.R. practice. Clutch. Smooth and light. Up to R.R. standard Steering. Completely free from road reaction and joggles etc. but has the typical American 'dead' feeling self centering being very slight.
