LES X 122 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E.11/HP.16.11.32. c. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Mer. Dy.{F R Danby} re Peregrine and J.2. Front Engine Suspensions. The original WW. scheme for the above, in which eight pieces of rubber of three different shapes were employed, with double plate torque reaction dampers, was turned down by Derby. The scheme we recently sent H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} from Derby - LeC.3266 for the Peregrine to replace the aforementioned, in which two pieces of rubber were employed to take the torque combined with a single plate damper, has been rejected as being too involved. We are sending to R.{Sir Henry Royce} a further scheme this afternoon, which we think will appeal to him, on Peregrine, and we will issue a similar scheme to you for J.2. before the end of the week.
