WYLIE File BENTLEY 111 - EXHAUST MANIFOLD. Please receive herewith E.CD.1031 Stiffening Ribs for End Branches of Exhaust Manifold - Wraith 111 and Bentley 111. This modification is intended to provide additional resistance to the tilting of the end branches of the manifold, as experienced on 8-B-V.{VIENNA} on its recent 15,000 miles test run, the rear flange being most affected resulting in a leaky joint. Will you please instruct the altered pipe experimentally for Bentley 111, so that it can be tried out on the next test car. As the Wraith 111 and Bentley 111 engines at present use a common manifold, the modified pipe, if adopted for the Bentley 111 should also apply to the Wraith 111.
