The object of this scheme is to give flexibility to the front silencer support to allow for engine oscillation in addition to fore and aft heat expansion allowance of the exhaust system. It is designed for use on the exhaust system produced by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} as used on chassis 8.B.V. The durometer hardness of the rubber is a matter for experiment. Will you please detail and instruct the new parts, so that they may be tried out on the experimental cars, to furnish data for the designs for the B.3. exhaust system, which are now in hand and which will be completed when final recommendations are received from the Experimental Department regarding capacity of silencers etc. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
