Dear Sirs,
We are in receipt of your letter Reference Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}9/MH{M. Huckerby} of the 22nd instant, enclosing a copy of your Drawing No EXs. 1021 and we should like to advise you that it is not possible to incorporate the peg during manufacture of the carbon ring as the rings have to be machined all over.
We therefore propose to supply further sample rings drilled as requested in the third paragraph of your letter in order that you may proceed with your experiments.
