(8) Progress in production of Goshawk chassis.

It was stated that there are approximately 40% of drawings in the Works. Agreed that BJ. should report progress to CJ. and R.{Sir Henry Royce}

(9) Another R.R.Car for Mr.Royce.

Agreed that R.{Sir Henry Royce} should be requested to keep his car as there are too many new features on it to be useful for a demonstrating car.

(10) Charges for repairs, if wrong estimates are made.

Agreed that if we estimate and eventually find it has cost more to carry out repairs than was estimated, the Company must stand the loss. If we estimate and find that the repairs cost less than was estimated we should refund the balance to the owner. It is specially necessary therefore that estimates shall be very accurate.

It was considered possible to decrease expenses by only checking the cost of say one in every six repairs. This will be further considered.

(11) Manufacture of electrical units.

Agreed that this question was not far enough advanced but should be brought up again at a later date.

(12) Ferman's Castings.

Agreed that we can make the die castings for Goshawk II, which will not be delivered till after Ferman's contract has expired.

(13) Comparing Derby and Springfield costs.

It was thought that Derby should send Springfield periodically a list of costs, and vice versa.

It was agreed that Mr.Rodman should arrange in what form it is to be carried out, take necessary action and report to BJ.

(14) (a) Reference BJ6/DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}4.4.21. Consider the running side of the R.R. American Co., the Test Dept. of R.R.America.

BJ. said that he would communicate with Mr.Belnap and obtain his recommendations.

(b) Cost of Exhaust Heaters for Japan.

Agreed that Mr.Rodman should send full details of cost to BJ.
