R.R. 255a (100 T) (S.H. 798. 10-12-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 1947 X 3533 To EFC. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to CJ. c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} EB/G14.2.21. X. 3533 RE "GOSHAWKII" DYNAMO. X. 294. The crankcase for Goshawk II has been arranged for a dynamo of 5¼" diameter, in accordance with Mr. Royce's instructions. This is the same diameter as the Goshawk I dynamo, and Mr. Royce expects that we shall add a third brush to this machine for the control, and if we find that the dynamo is not large enough as regards output, we shall add to its length. At the same time, it is desired to know what other machines are available of English make, suitable for the "Goshawk" chassis, and Mr. Royce would like you to send up-to-date catalogues of C.A.V., Lucas, etc. giving this information.
