4¼ LITRE BENTLEY - CHASSIS B.30.GA. REGISTERED NO. C.X.D.383.

Chassis bought from Rolls Royce Ltd., 1936, and fitted with H.J. Mulliner special lightweight Weymann Saloon (£700) which gives this car an outstanding performance compared with other Bentleys. The chassis was fitted with R.R. noise insulation (not common to other Bentleys) and the result of this and the body together with the mounting of it on Silentbloc bushes is a softer quieter feel which is noticeable at once to anyone who has driven a Bentley fitted with the cheaper standardised and heavier body.

The general feel and the performance of this car is so outstanding that whenever Bentleys had to satisfy an exacting purchaser, they used to borrow this car for their trial runs.

The body has a little more room in it than the standard body and the seats are extraordinarily comfortable, everything in exactly the right place.

Colour black, with red lines and bright red leather upholstery. Beautifully finished in details and everything of super quality. Sliding roof, 4 doors.

The total price of the car was about £1850 with all extras. Special black lamps, much smartening the appearance.

All its life it has been carefully nursed at the Rolls Royce Service station.

In 1940 after doing only 36,000 miles the whole chassis was taken down by Rolls Royce and made as new and the body gone over by Mulliners. New tyres were fitted. Mileage since about 5,000.

Car has been specially tuned and now does 21/22 miles per gallon.

Most Bentleys for sale have big mileages and cannot now be overhauled.

This car is unique, it is to all intents and purposes a new car, just run in. It looks new too as there is not a scratch on it.
