R.R. 199 (250?) (SD676 19-7-17) MP 180865 Contd. -2- RL/G23.8.20. little bit difficult to hold a funnel as at present arranged. It would appear to want to be slightly longer and slightly more upright. In conjunction with this fitting it seems absolutely imperative to have a petrol gauge that can be seen, and the location on the central rear part of the tank with the identification numbers on a plate lower seems best. X.3507a. As regards the frame fittings for the luggage carrier, these appear to be of ample strength, and of light and satisfactory construction. I think they should be fitted in all cases, so as to avoid the coachbuilders very defective work which we have experienced in the past. The whole luggage carrier should be supplied, or the designs supplied to the coach- builders, providing this has been thoroughly well tested out. R.{Sir Henry Royce} Since writing the above we have improved the design of the parts mentioned, which are at present going through for a second test. | ||
