Complaint regarding a non-waterproof A.T. Speedometer No. B.563 which was damaged after letting in water on an 8-EX car.

Attached is the report of the tester who took down the speedometer in order to remove water from it.

It is fairly certain that the damage to the hair spring occurred on one of the two occasions on which the speedometer was dismantled. This of course would not have occurred at all had the instrument been waterproof. 8-EX car, on which the speedometer was fitted, lets water in during wet weather. I think we are justified in complaining about the instrument in this respect.
