21st. December 1938.

Messrs. Ferodo Ltd.,
CHAPEL-EN-LE-FRITH.

For the attention of Mr. Longley.

Dear Sirs,

With regard to the six belts to EB.4202 which you have recently delivered, we have checked these up with the drawing and find that they are far from accurate. Instead of a top width (with belt straight) of .920, the belts delivered have an average top width of .880, while their angle is 45° instead of 42° called for on drawing.

These discrepancies are causing us a good deal of inconvenience as the pulleys for these belts have already been made, and we would like to know why the mould is not correct.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
