Front Axle - Bentley:

We cannot standardise the strengthened features of the axle run on 4-B-IV as it has the wrong transverse lean. We have discussed with By/TWD{T. W. D???Aeith} whether the axle to N.Sch.4000 drawn for 14" drums can be used on the present chassis. It was decided that with a slight modification to the brake drum width this could be done.

We should be glad if you would detail this accordingly to suit existing chassis with 12" brake drums.

There seems no reason why this axle should not then go on production as all the new features have been tested on 4-B-IV.
