To E.R. Copy to Dent. Hives. Platt. Mr/Whyman. K/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/HN.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}15.7.36. Wraith II Dashboard. We send herewith Loc.5207 and Loc.5208 showing the complete information concerning the Wraith II dashboard. The general arrangement on the face of the dashboard follows that of Phantom III, and the units themselves are the same with the exception of the centralised chassis lubrication pump and the jack pump. In the case of the former it has been modified to enable the pump to be removed without disturbing the noise insulation, and this pump can be subsequently on Phantom III. In the case of the jack tank, this has been reduced in height and increased in section in order that it may be housed in the pot on the dashboard. As in the case of the lubrication tank, this tank can also be used on Phantom III. The noise insulation scheme follows that now in general use. This scheme also shows the scuttle isolation and the side buffers between the scuttle and dashboard pot. These parts are all the same as on Phantom III. In view of the difficulties experienced with the Marles type of steering, we have not provided for adjustment to the column, but a common gas-tight plate on the pedal gap plate is used for all angles of steering. It is intended to try this car initially with the dash brackets as the sole attachment between the dashboard and the chassis frame. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Att: Loc.5207. Loc.5208. | ||
