RE "GOSHAWK II" - REAR UNIVERSAL JOINT.

The drawing of the front universal joint, namely, Lec.1363, which has been sent to you, shews a scheme in which the star piece carries the pins of the universal and the joint is assembled by having open ended forks with the openings just large enough to pass the star piece, the universal pin bushes being assembled by sliding them in endways.

Mr. Royce considers this type of joint to be stronger, lighter, and less expensive than the ring joint, and he would like you to apply it immediately to the rear universal for "Goshawk II", using as many of the parts of the front universal as shewn on Lec.1363, as can be conveniently incorporated in the design.
