(2) (13) Exhaust cutout - as far as the silencer is concerned probably like EAC.7. The controls will be dealt with as soon as possible, but they do not appear to be a big job. In addition to the above there are the following which have yet to be dealt with: (14) Radiator & suspension - R.{Sir Henry Royce} has recently instructed that these may be the same as EAC. 7. We are not sure that this is absolutely final as we understand there is a demand for a deeper radiator from the Sales side which may cause us to look into the question again. (We are putting Sales proposals, together with some suggestions of our own, before R.{Sir Henry Royce} at an early date.) Some little while ago however Exp. Dept. asked us to hold up the design of the radiator suspension until they had come to some definite conclusions on the engine suspension. We are still waiting for this information (15) Front axle control - an engine suspension consisting of 4 rubber feet will necessitate a new type of hydraulic shock damper for the axle control. R.{Sir Henry Royce} has given us some instructions, but we are waiting to hear whether it is probable that this type of suspension will be used before proceeding with any design work. (16) Finally, in trying to get the chassis as low as possible we are suggesting to R.{Sir Henry Royce} that there should be a modified front axle. We shall be sending a drawing of this in the course of a day or two. With reference to the relative importance of EAC. 10. and India, we have referred to this in another memo.
