Re Oil Leaks from the Water Pump Drive. 20 HP. We note from our quarterly compilation of complaints that this trouble does not seem to have been adequately overcome. The number of cars which have had to be treated for this trouble since the 1st of January 1928 is 12, all except one being India type chassis. This of course only includes those which have been complaints from customers, or for some other reason have been carried out free of charge to owner. We may say that we invariably charge customer for this job wherever possible and it does not represent the sum total of cars which have been treated for this complaint. We have been wondering whether it would be possible to stop the trouble more successfully during erection, as if this item is to be attended to alone, it involves a considerable amount of expense in dismantling, re-erecting etc. We have no Key Card for this job. Could not the return oil hole be definitely lowered? Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/HAW. | ||
