The English Steel Corporation,
SHEFFIELD.

For the attention of Mr. Gilfillen.

Dear Sirs,

Confirming our conversation today, we understand that you will now deliver at least half a dozen of the 40 m/m barrel forgings you are making for us to the Royal Ordnance Factory, Nottingham, by road on August 12th, and that the remainder of the order of 60 will follow within the week. Also that, if by any means you find it possible, you will improve on this date.

We have explained to you that the machining situation dictates the urgency of the delivery date.

Will you please let us know the exact dimensions and weight which you have decided on for the production forgings for the barrel.

Yours faithfully,
