RE X.1452 - CLAUDEL-HOBSON CARBURETTERS.

"With reference to our telegram of this morning reading as follows:-

"Make experiments with throttling down and opening out engine in various ways to see whether there is any missing fire".

these instructions refer to missing fire causing uneven torque, and theopening out causing hesitation of the engine getting away under load again. It will be advisable to see whether the two sizes of carburetter, namely 32 m/m and 36 m/m, show any marked difference in this respect, and if the faults are very menifest, whether they can be reduced by using two carburetters per 6 cylinder engine. That is, somewhat seeing how they compare with the Mercedes under such conditions of working. It would also be interesting, if convenient, to try our own standard carburetter, a single one on each side of the 12 cylinder engine."
