April 8th. 1915. Re Claudel Hobson Carburetters. For the R.R. 225 HP at 1600 revolutions, I think we should use the Claudel 32 m/m carburetter and the hot water jacketed induction pipe. We must use entirely separate carburetters, as we cannot rigidly fix the two together with one float feed, without danger. R.{Sir Henry Royce} At 1600 revs. the 32 m/m appears as good as the 36 nearly. Is it not for other reasons better, enabling greater HP at say 1200 to 1400, and better consumption all round ?
