contd :- -2- 102 I believe MacStay has got the wages for Pepper and Thornhill. Will you send them back to Mr. Scott, Cashier, by registered post. Having talked the matter over with Mr. Hives - a report is required every day of what is done. It does not matter if no results have been obtained, we want to know how the work is progressing. Further tests should be carried out with the car as follows :- (1) During cold weather - is there any trouble with any part of the engine freezing up i.e., after draining water out and leaving the car all night. Please make careful observations. (2) How long (time) before engine is in O.K. after starting up from cold - and any further features. (3) Stop the front brakes from working and investigate any weakness or distortion of rear brake equalising shafts, preventing the full braking action of rear brakes - this is important. Have any definite results been got from gearbox investigations - loss of oil from engine, and varying oil pressure is being dealt with here. Please let MacStay and Hill have a copy of this note.
