SLOUGH, Bucks:

Dear Tsn.,

Herewith the information you require in connection with the Duralumin Rod which you are proposing to produce for us. We should like the big-end to have non-flanged bushes as we find these are cheaper and perfectly satisfactory.

In considering these drawings, it as well to remember that we have never, to my knowledge, broken one of these steel connecting rods on test in spite of the fact that we have taken 160 h.p. out of the engine for 24 hours, and and run up to 4,500 r.p.m. In future, we are proposing to limit the engine to 4250, and the rod can be designed for these conditions.

The connecting rod bolts are about on the limit, and we have found it necessary to make these in S.Z.N.C.R. in order to get them to stand up.

Yours sincerely,
