Ph.III Dynamo with 36 Slot Armature.

With reference to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}3/WH.10.2.38. We are instructing 6 dynamos with the new armature and brush gear, and we propose to increase the armature diameter from 3.050 to 3.090 in order to use the standard frame and field winding.

We would point out that the pole used with the 3.050 dia. armature actually had a shorter core than the standard pole, and that the standard field winding is as large as can be accomodated, using D.C.C. wire.

We are bearing in mind that for future designs, it is desirable to increase the field resistance from 6.15 ohms to 6.5 ohms.
