| -2- Rolls Royce Ltd., 10.6.38. This instrument is particularly suited to the accurate instrument of impulsive types of noise. The price of either of these instruments complete with batteries is £65 nett. The delivery period required is 3 weeks in the case of type TF.{T. Fisher}397 and 6 weeks for TF.{T. Fisher}500. We can also supply, when required, an Adjustable Tuning Unit, type TF.{T. Fisher}456 which is connected to the Noise Meter, (either type) and so makes the indication of the instrument selective - i.e. makes it possible to emphasise or suppress any particular band of frequencies. In certain cases this facility is of considerable benefit, in that the effect of background noises etc., can be definitely diminished. The price of this accessory which does not, of course, take the place of our Harmonic Analyser is £26.10.0d. nett. When required, we can supply a Vibration Pick-up type TF.{T. Fisher}481 which is used for the determination of the sources and amplitude of mechanical vibrations covering a frequency range of 20 to 3000 cycles per second. Our Harmonic Analyser, type TF{T. Fisher}455 is capable of giving a frequency analysis over the range of 20 to 16000 cycles, and discriminates between frequencies differing by only a few cycles. It incorporates a superheterodyne vacuum tube voltmeter having a sharply tuned intermediate amplifier which makes use of quartz filters. The price of this instrument is £120 nett delivery 8 weeks from receipt of order.
