X5840 To: Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From: G.W.H. Hôtel de France, Châteauroux Indre. 8/6/29. We examined the car yesterday and checked the following:- Rear spring clips tightened up one full turn of nut. Front spring clips one serration of nut. Rear shock-dampers taken off and checked for poundage. Found N/S 40 x 60, O/S 50 x 75; made these 80 x 80. Front shock dampers checked, found to be 60 x 80. Not altered. All connecting links spheres well oiled. All front wing stays nuts on frame loose, no grover washers fitted. Filters examined, all clean. Lucas lubricator on rear axle oil leaks past non-return valve after releasing gun. We have resumed running to-day. The speedometer is approx. 10% high for mileage and speed. We are very pleased with the car generally. G.W.H. | ||
