Difficulties of starter motor placement and its potential future use with a new gearbox.

R.{Sir Henry Royce} realised the difficulties of taking down the starter motor etc. He considered that in view of the very rare occasions when it should be necessary to do this it was worth while locating the unit in the position we have done, but we would point out that it is possible we may eventually use this starter motor sch. alongside the new gearbox, in which case some of the objections made would be removed. Our main desire at the moment is to determine whether the new arrangement will function silently. The foregoing is intended to reply to EFC3/T4.2.27. AJS. | ||
