RE 40/50 CHASSIS - RADIATOR.
SECTION 5250.

It has been brought to our notice that the suspension spherical seatings formed on the Bottom Tank - E.17683 and Cap. E.4303Z are not being finished until the Radiators are received back from makers. The operation in question being one of hand reaming before fitting on the chassis.

This procedure makes it possible for an unfinished radiator to be taken from stores, and sent to a Repair Station, where difficulty will be experienced in obtaining a proper working clearance in the spheres.

Will you please instruct that all Bottom Tanks and Caps are reamed before despatching to makers.

With the dimensions and limits on drawings we obtain a definite clearance of .002 with a maximum of .005.
