Referring to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Smth.4/R.29.12.36 this scrap metal referred to is now being used in our own foundry for the casting of both rocker covers and wheelcases at an approximate saving of 7d . per lb. As the production cards call for these items to be made from RR.50 we fail to see how the works can get the credit of this saving. Further should the scrap metal become exhausted and we have to revert back to RR.50 what would be the position then. We have taken this matter up with G/Rb.{R. Bowen} and in his opinion this saving can only be shown in the general casting costs. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/TVT.{T. V. Turner} JMS | ||
