To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}, from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}

DIAPHRAGM CHANGEOVER - S.U. PUMPS.

This is to confirm that you will be responsible for seeing that everything is done to expedite this change-over in conjunction with the S.U. Company, Sft.{Mr Swift} and Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}

With regard to the silenced petrol pumps which have been despatched by the S.U. Co., as soon as these come to hand will you please arrange to despatch one to Chateauroux via Punt (if he has not already gone) and subject the other two to intensive bench testing.

Will you also make up a battery of numbers of the pumps and run with the new diaphragms on petrol and discol.

We want you to consider how we can best divide the two halves of the S.U.pump on 25/30 and Bentley and have an independent switch so as to have a pump in reserve.

On the Phantom III. we may have to use two double pumps and keep one in reserve.

We should also like to have your views on the ideal petrol system.

Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}
