Notes of Meeting.

20/25's.

Re Lower Gear Ratio with smaller wheels - the scheme referred to in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}11/KW.31.1.35 had been tried and thought good by all concerned. It was, however, felt that, before standardisation, it ought to be submitted to the usual test in France.

It requires to be done on a fairly up-to-date 20/25 and Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} promised to try to find a suitable car.

HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} undertook to ascertain and report the position in regard to our wheel commitments.

Re Improved Performance, a discussion took place relative to the new type of ixx turbulent head, increased compression, adjustable tappets, etc. etc., and in view of the large amount of design work and the effect on production, it was felt that instead of spending time and money on this, we should push on with Wraith.

A suggestion was made by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that it might be a good scheme to put a Wraith engine with its gearbox etc. into Vulture, which is really J.III frame with a Phantom engine and J.III gearbox, the frame being suitably strengthened up in accordance with latest practice.

It was felt that this matter required careful consideration and a meeting will be held at Derby next week in order to discuss it further.

Easier Change Gearbox. There is nothing further to report since the last meeting other than that we have tried the Wilson box on the 20/25 and we are satisfied that this is not what we want.

The question of operating the synchromesh box by relay is having consideration and attention as and when time permits.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}
