3.B.IV. REAR AXLE.

With regard to your memo saying that one of the square headed bolts securing the bridge piece is loose, these bolts are rivetted over on the inside. Unless this operation has been left out there should be no danger of the nut coming off and getting into the axle gears. Before such a thing could happen you would be able to pull the bolt out a few threads.
